Our background
Tony has been a keen cyclist for the past 45 years. He has represented South Africa on a number of occasions and he gained Springbok colours regularly from 1976 to 1981.
Tony won numerous road and Track races at top level. He then turned Professional in 1982 to 1989 and rode with Alan van Heerden, Willie Engelbrecht, Ertjies Bezuidenhout, Gary and Mark Beneke in the Southern Sun M Net Dream Team of that era . After a successful cycling career Tony Impey Cycles was founded.
Tony is married to Elly and has two sons Grant and Daryl who both cycle .
Grant also participated at a high level and finished in 22nd at the Cape Epic a few years ago.
Daryl is a Pro Cyclist with the Australian Orica Greenedge Cycling Team.
he has raced in the Tour de France on 3 occasions making African History in 2013 by winning the team time trial and wearing the coveted Yellow Jersey for 2 days.
